Hotel Boarding Visit

Over the past 3 years, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact on the global hotel industry, and many hotels have faced unprecedented challenges. However, as the pandemic is gradually being brought under control, the hotel industry is once again poised to embrace new opportunities and recovery. Revenue managers from RMCC have also promptly visited the hotels they manage, conducting on-site inspections and engageing deeper interations with their colleagues at the hotels.

Revenue Managers and Senior Revenue Managers will travel to the hotels they are responsible for to conduct a 3-5 day business trip. The main itinerary includes daily face-to-face meetings, visiting their own hotel and all competitor hotels to understand the local market trends, and engaging in direct communication and exchange with colleagues from the hotel's General Manager, Business Development Department, and Operations Department to establish a deeper understanding and mutual trust. They will have more in-depth discussions regarding the hotel's budget and future development strategies in order to achieve higher and better revenue results.

For the first time after the epidemic, I visited the hotel and could strongly feel the hotel's confidence and expectations for the market recovery. Different from the online meeting, face -to -face communication effectively helped everyone understand each other’s work and strengthened trust of each stakeholder. At the same time, the market has changed a lot after the epidemic. By visiting competitive hotels, we are now able to grasp market information and trends in time, which then supports our revenue management.

It’s been fantastic finally meeting the passionate hotel team of Conrad Xiamen face to face. After joining Xiamen’s team in Sep, seeing the difficulties from afar during the pandemic which everyone gone through, while also experienced the record-breaking moment together. Being with the team and see the positive mindset and efficient teamwork is infectious. Cannot wait for more great times and record to break in 2023 altogether!

这大概率是RMCC 4年以来首次拜访一家位于新西兰的希尔顿酒店。能与酒店商务团队面对面交流是一件激动人心的事,并且这次出差也为我与酒店商务总监、销售经理以及预订部经理共同建立一个互相信任且高效的团队提供了绝佳的机会。
此行的另一个重要目的是让我充分了解酒店的设施服务(包括但不限于房间、餐饮、会议等等)以及奥克兰的酒店市场。2019年之后这个城市迎来了众多新酒店,因此参观竞争对手酒店会很大程度上帮助我评估希尔顿的定位和订价策略并做出相应调整。总体而言这次拜访极大地增强了我对酒店未来业绩的信心!
This was probably the first boarding visit to a New Zealand hotel for the past 4 years! It was exciting to meet the commercial team at Hilton Auckland and more importantly, this trip helped me to build a trusting relationship with the Commercial Director, Sales Manager, Reservation Manager so we could work together to form a highly efficient team.
Another purpose of the visit was to obtain a better understanding about the products (room, Food&Beverage outlets, function space, etc.) as well as Auckland market. There have been many new supplies in town since 2019 therefore visiting all these competitors was crucial to me to evaluate our pricing positioning and strategies. This visit definitely boosted my confidence in this hotel’s future performance!
这次出差不仅使我们对酒店行业的复苏充满信心,也让我们更加深刻认识到了收益管理在酒店业中的重要性。酒店业的复苏需要我们在收益管理方面持续创新和优化,以适应市场的变化和客户的需求。期待在未来能有更多的机会和与酒店的小伙伴线下见面,更深度的互相交流与学习!
This business trip has not only filled us with confidence in the recovery of the hotel industry but has also given us a deeper understanding of the importance of revenue management in the hotel industry. The revival of the hotel industry requires us to continuously innovate and optimize revenue management to adapt to market changes and customer needs.
