Vietnam’s e-commerce sector continues to grow at a breakneck pace, with the Ministry of Industry and Trade estimating 2018 sales of US$8bn against an initial forecast of US$7bn. E-commerce sales in Vietnam are now expected to reach $15bn in 2020, 50% higher than previous government estimates. Amidst the aggressive growth, peripheral services supporting the industry are becoming more critical than ever. Last mile logistics remains a key piece of the puzzle, with Vietnam’s challenging geography and a low basket value affecting economic feasibility of last mile deliveries.
Given the complex situation, GLG has invited Mr. Dung Phan, Country Head (Vietnam) at Ninja Van, to shed light on the opportunities and risks of last mile logistics in Vietnam. He will discuss:
Key drivers of last mile logistics market in Vietnam
Competitive landscape: Major players and their competitive advantages
Major opportunities and risks: Infrastructure, rural area delivery, geography
Potential technological advances and disruptions in 2019-2020
Phan Dung will discuss these issues from his vantage as a participant in the industry, and will not discuss Ninja Logistics or any aspect of its operations. He will also decline to answer questions which are related to confidential matters.
Please note, this Teleconference will be recorded and a transcription made available on the GLG Library. Attendees who ask questions or make comments will not be identified (either by name or affiliation.) If your firm is not subscribed to the GLG Library or you have further questions, please contact your GLG representative.
