Job Description
Opportunity to be a part of an exciting new opportunity to join one of Silicon Valley’s hottest VC backed companies that has been highly recognized including named a”2018 Gartner Cool Vendor”, “2018 Best in Biz – Most innovative company”, “CRN 2018 Tech Innovator” and “2107 Silicon Valley High-Tech startup start”. DriveScale entered the China market in 2018 and has already had commercial wins in China and has developed many major channel partners.
The China Sales Director will lead our efforts in developing and growing the China market for our unique software solution. The role requires a high level of entrepreneurial energy, autonomy and business savvy to develop DriveScale’s business in Greater China into a significant contributor to our international expansion.
This is the opportunity to be involved at the early stages with a well backed technology company that was founded in 2013 but is new to China, is growing quickly and is healthy.
Key Responsibilities
Work with DriveScale leadership in Sunnyvale, CA to define and execute a strategy for establishing a successful business in Greater China.
Provide feedback to DriveScale executives on market trends, product requirements, and other needs to maximize revenue and market share in Greater China.
Identify, prospect and develop strong relationships with distribution and technology partners to provide additional leverage in the market.
As part of organizational development, hire, manage and develop world class talent to support the growth of our business in China
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum 10 years of successful sales experience in the IT market.
Willing to travel to major markets in China, and to US headquarters as required
Proven track record of delivering against sales targets; ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with customers and partners
Knowledge of data center technologies, including compute/storage/networking
Familiarity with big data, machine learning and other data-intensive technologies
Ability to work with customers at all levels, from technical contributor to executive management
Demonstrated experience bootstrapping a new sales territory with minimal resources
Leadership experience including building and maintaining high performing teams
Experience working for a US-based company is a plus
Good command of English and strong communication skills
Location
Shanghai preferred; will also consider Shenzhen and Beijing.
