We sincerely invite you to use your camera to record the wonderful chapters of China (Hainan) - ASEAN, and jointly paint a beautiful blueprint for friendship and cooperation!
Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, this global call for entries takes the short video competition as a platform. The "One Family Along the Maritime Silk Road TikTok Short Video Competition" encourages creators to adopt new approaches and perspectives. Centering on five creative units—"Charming China, Beautiful Life, China-Foreign Friendship, Mutual Learning between Civilizations, and Global Development"—as well as one special unit "Charming Hainan," participants are invited to produce outstanding short videos that are warm, profound, extensive, and inspiring. These works should tell compelling Chinese stories, depict splendid civilizations, and showcase the vivid scenes of friendly exchanges and deep affinity between the people of China and ASEAN countries, as well as the efforts to build a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
Short video creators all over the world can pick up your mobile phones or cameras to capture touching moments through the lens and tell their own Maritime Silk Road stories. Meanwhile, the competition will focus on collecting online works from short video creators in China, ASEAN regions, and countries along the Belt and Road Initiative. It will also send targeted invitations to sibling provincial TV stations around Hainan, communication institutions, social organizations, short video platforms, MCN agencies, institutions of higher education, and short video creators.In addition, the competition will invite ASEAN diplomats in China, media representatives, ASEAN internet celebrities, as well as well-known Chinese online influencers and media elites. Through a combined activity model of "offline visits + online interactions + promotion via social media matrix," and leveraging the powerful communication channels of ASEAN envoys, domestic and foreign internet celebrities, and media, the competition will tell compelling stories of China and Hainan, comprehensively promote Hainan, and build up Hainan's brand influence.
Submission Period
The competition officially opens for submissions from today, with the deadline set at 24:00 on November 16, 2025.
Competition Requirements
Entries must be original works that reflect the requirements of the common values of all mankind, with positive and healthy content. There are no restrictions on creative styles, and shooting techniques and forms of expression can be freely explored.
Multilingual short video creation is encouraged to break down language barriers, enabling broader and deeper dissemination and exchange of cultures between China and ASEAN countries, as well as promoting mutual understanding and appreciation among different cultures.

- First Prize (1 winner): ¥20,000 per person
- Second Prize (2 winners): ¥10,000 per person
- Third Prize (6 winners): ¥5,000 per person

Follow the instructions in the reply email to fill in the registration form and upload your work to participate in the competition.
(II) Creators on the Douyin platform:
1.Publish works related to the theme, add the official competition hashtag#海丝一家亲tiktok短视频大赛#, and tag the official account @海南文旅.
2.To submit registration information, send an email with the subject "I Want to Register" to tiktok@hnntv.cn.
Follow the instructions in the reply email to fill in the registration form and upload your work to participate in the competition.
This event will leverage the omni-media resources of Hainan Broadcasting System and link up with the media resources of other provincial-level broadcasters across China to conduct news coverage and feature reports, thereby enhancing the competition's authority and influence.Meanwhile, it will collaborate with media outlets from 11 ASEAN countries, leverage the national-level international communication matrix for global outreach, and establish cooperative relationships with international short video festivals, film festivals, and other events to carry out international promotion. This aims to boost the competition's international influence and brand communication power, providing creators with a broad platform for display.
The award ceremony of this event is scheduled to be held at the end of November. It will gather the competition winners, ASEAN internet celebrities, well-known Chinese online influencers, media elites, and creative talents to host a series of activities including the 2025 "One Family Along the Maritime Silk Road" Short Video Global Tourism Promotion Event via Short Videos and the Award Ceremony of the TikTok Short Video Competition. Through the innovative form of the TikTok Short Video Competition, a regular international exchange mechanism will be built, and an integrated communication model of "culture + technology + tourism" will be formed. It will promote the regular operation of the "One Family Along the Maritime Silk Road" Short Video Alliance, Internet Celebrity Alliance, and International Cultural Exchange Base, providing sustainable content production and cross-cultural dialogue support for the international communication of Hainan Free Trade Port.
The 2025 "One Family Along the Maritime Silk Road" series of activities will take "Hainan as the main venue, ASEAN as the fulcrum, and the world as the stage". Driven by the three dimensions of "competition + promotion + cooperation", it will create a benchmark project for cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN, facilitate the closure operation of Hainan Free Trade Port, help Hainan become an international cultural hub of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and a global tropical cultural and tourism destination, and contribute "Hainan wisdom" to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
