Researchers from AIOFM attend the 5th International SKYNET Workshop
The 5th International SKYNET Workshop (ISW) was held at New Delhi,India during 13 to 15 February 2019, which was hosted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).Researchers from AIOFM attended this workshop.
The Workshop aims to bring together the scientists associated with International SKYNET network and other observational sites working on aerosol optical & radiative properties, solar radiation, Short-Lived Climate Forcers (SLCF) and the products provided by the network for various applications.
In this meeting, Prof. Wang Yingjian gave a report titled “The advanced development of lidar techniques in AIOFM, CAS”, in which the latest lidar detection technique in advance was introduced. And Prof. Liu Dong gave a report titled “The synergic observation of aerosol and cloud by lidar and radar”, in which the space and ground based synergic results were described in detail. Then Dr. Wang Zhenzhu gave a lead talk titled “The optical and microphysical properties of aerosol and cloud in SKYNET Hefei site”, in which the analysis of long-term aerosol, cloud and their optical and radiative properties collected at Hefei were summarized.
During the workshop, we have the unique opportunity to enriching the knowledge and sharing the thoughts with leaders in the fields of academic research and societal applications. And various experts will promote International SKYNET network and carry out further international cooperation in the field of LIDAR.
After the meeting, Prof. Liu dong, as a core member join in a routing discussion organized by the International SKYNET Committee, when the sensor development, calibration, and future plan for SKYNET are discussed. And the next International SKYNET Workshop will be held at Japan in the Autumn of 2020.
