EVERRICH 10 anchored at Qigang Terminal, LongkouPort, and started to unload liquefied butane on June 25. This meant the thirdrefrigerated cargo terminal in Bohai Gulf was put into use with full function.
According to SCI, the LPG Gas CarrierEVERRICH 10 shipped over 40,000mt LPG from Iran, and unloaded part of cargoesat Dongguan, Guangdong, then arrived at Longkou Port to deliver over 12,000mtrefrigerated liquefied butane to Qigang Terminal. The unloading started on June25 at 500-600mt per hour, and the unloading was estimated to take over 30hours.
Several days ago on June 17, the QigangTerminal had unloaded the pressurized LPG carrier GAS MARATHON came from Iran.It is said that the terminal will focus on the deliveries from Iran in thefuture.
Qigang Terminal, located at Longkou Port,Shandong Province, P.R. China, is built in with one set of 50,000mt gradeliquefied cargo dock and 100,000cbm (or 50,000mt) grade liquefied hydrocarbonstorage tank. The terminal is capable to load, unload and store propane, butaneand other C4 resources. This is the third full function refrigerated LPGterminal in Bohai Gulf, and it provides a whole new resource import route toNorth China and Shandong. It is estimated the annual operating capacity willreach 400,000mt.
The operation of Qigang Terminal breaks themonopoly of Shandong Wanhua Group on LPG imports in Shandong, and there is nomatching LPG deep-processing unit for the terminal. Therefore, the importedresources are only for trading purpose, and there is no concern about theinside and outside distribution of the resources like Shandong Wanhua Group. Allthe unloaded cargoes are capable for the industrial-use in Shandong as well asthe civil-use, and the competition in Shandong LPG market will become fiercer.
