China to see strong investment in Q3: Report


China is expected to see a robust level of domestic investment demand growth starting late August, according to a major investment bank.


Leading indicators of infrastructure, property and manufacturing investment demand all point to strong momentum in the near term, said China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) in a report.

China to cooperate with Gambia in infrastructure, agriculture, tourism

 

China is ready to enhance cooperation with Gambia in infrastructure, agriculture, tourism and other fields, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi here on Tuesday.

 

Wang said the resumption of diplomatic ties between the two countries has not only brought bilateral relations back to the right track, but also opened up broad prospects for cooperation.

 

China is willing to work with the Gambian side to enhance mutual trust, expand people-to-people exchanges as well as strengthen coordination in global and regional affairs to push bilateral relations to a higher level, said Wang.

China's private sector regains strength on optimistic economic outlook

 

Once a major worry for policymakers, China's private sector is gradually regaining momentum after a gloomy 2016, as businesses become more optimistic on the country's economic outlook.

 

In the first half of the year, fixed-asset investments by the private sector grew 7.2 percent year on year, accounting for 60.7 percent of total investment, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

 

The growth was much higher than the 3.2 percent registered last year.

Sri Lanka invites more Chinese investors


Sri Lanka on Monday called on more Chinese investors to invest in the island country, saying that China had invested more than $52 million in the country in 2016 alone.


Speaking at the China-Sri Lanka Infrastructure Investment Cooperation Forum in Colombo, Commerce and Industry Minister Rishard Bathiudeen said that in 2016, Sri Lanka received foreign direct investment (FDI) of $801 million.
