The Second Russia-China Crude Pipeline Begins Operation

On January 1, 2018, the Second Russia-China Crude Pipeline invested and constructed by CNPC officially became operational.

The Second Russia-China Crude Pipeline, from Mohe to Daqing in China’s Heilongjiang Province, is in parallel with the First Russia-China Crude Pipeline which was put into use on January 1, 2011. Construction of the Second Russia-China Crude Pipeline began on August 13, 2016, with a total length of 932.1km, a pipe diameter of 813mm, a designed pressure of 9.5-11.5MPa, and an annual capacity of 15 million tons.

Built and operated by PetroChina Pipeline Company Ltd., the pipeline is an important project in China-Russia energy cooperation. Its operation will not only fill the gap in oil supply in northeast China, but also is of great significance to furthering energy cooperation and promoting crude oil trade between the two countries.
