Wanhua Chemical Group to Build a 1,000kt/a Ethylene Project

Wanhua Chemical Group will invest RMB 11.7 billion to build ethylene project, relying on the advantages of chemical industry park. The capacity is 1,000kt/a. After the project is completed, Wanhua Chemical will be the largest ethylene production base in Shandong Province, it also ranks among the top in China. At present, the project has been included in the development plan of the national petrochemical industry and is being submitted to the national development and reform commission for approval. The project will help to improve the pattern and the chemical industry in Shandong Province and provide the basic guarantee for economic development in Shandong Province.

Wanhua Chemical polyurethane industrial chain - ethylene project has been evaluated on the website of Yantai Environmental Protection Bureau in December 2016 and July 2017.

According to public information statistics, construction site located in Wanhua Yantai Industrial Park, Lingang Industrial Zone, Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shandong Province. The project will produce ethylene and downstream hydrocarbons, resin and etc. The raw materials are C2 which produced by Wanhua Yantai Industrial Park phase I project and propane or n-butane bought from outside. The main units are 1,000kt/a cracking unit for ethylene, 400kt/a PVC unit, 450kt/a LLDPE unit, 300kt/a PO unit, 650kt/a styrene unit, 80kt/a butadiene unit, and supporting ancillary production facilities. Main products are PVC, EO, LDPE, LLDPE, PO, Styrene and Butadiene/Butene-1, etc.
