
China LPG Import Volume Recovered in Mar
According to China Customs, China’s imported 1,590.31kt of LPG in March, up 30.70% M-O-M and 32.46% Y-O-Y.

As shown in the table above, China imported 1,128.73kt of liquefied propane in March 2018, up 31.37% M-O-M and 24.15% Y-O-Y. The import volume of other liquefied butane was 446.28kt in the same month, up 28.43% M-O-M and 75.19% Y-O-Y. Besides, the import volume of other olefins was 15.3kt, up 51.49% M-O-M but down 59.39% Y-O-Y.

According to China Customs, China imported LPG mainly from the U.A.E., Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and Kuwait. The imported LPG volume from the U.A.E. reached 627.9kt, ranking first and up 66% M-O-M. Hereinto, the import volume of propane was 431.7kt, and that of butane was 195.9kt. The imported propane volume from the U.S. crashed. Therein, the import volume of propane and butane was 103.4kt and 12.3kt, down 55% and 65% respectively.

Main provinces and cities that imported most of LPG in March 2018 were Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong and Tianjin.

China exported 96.6kt of LPG in March 2018, up 5.9% M-O-M. Hereinto, the export volume of propane was 38.4kt, up 5.52% M-O-M. That of other liquefied butane was 58.2kt, up 6.15% M-O-M. The export volume of other LPG and gaseous hydrocarbons was 0.02kt, unchanged M-O-M.


In March 2018, main destinations of China’s exported LPG were Vietnam, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Macao. The export volume was largely the same as that in February 2018, and the main destinations were concentrated in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macao regions.
