CNPC’s Russia-China Gas East Line to Operate in 2019

CNPC’s Chairman, Wang Yilin, said in the 2-Sessions that the Russia-China natural gas east truck pipeline will be put into operation in Q4, 2019, according to the current construction progress.
Wang also added that the price will be very competitive, but he didn’t give any exact contract price for reference.
In May 2014, China signed the $400 billion deal with Russia to import 38 bcm natural gas per annum for 30 years via the Russia-China east line. The China section totaled at 3,371 km from Heihe City in Heilongjiang, the north end of China, to Shanghai City via nine provinces.
The piped gas price in Northeast China is conventionally high, and with the commissioning of the new line, it is foreseeable the imported low-priced gas will be welcomed by the buyers along the line.
