600kt/a Olefin Project at Jiutai Group to Complete in Nov 2018

The aromatics project at Jiutai Energy Inner Mongolia once encountered financial problems. After the reorganization, the project continued to advance. Recently, the 110KV substation of the project has been completed and officially used. It is predicted that the whole project will be put into operation in November 2018.

At present, Jiutai Group has deployed four coal chemical projects in Inner Mongolia, namely the 1,000kt/a methanol and 100kt/a DME projects at Jiutai Energy Inner Mongolia, which have been put into operation in 2010; 500kt/a MEG project (Phase I 200kt/a) at Jiutai Energy Ordos; 600kt/a olefin project at Jiutai Energy Jungar and 1,000kt/a ethylene and 1,800kt/a PTA projects at Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials.

The methanol deep-processing project at Jiutai Energy Jungar started construction in 2013 with a planned investment of 8.28 billion RMB. The project uses advanced technology from UOP to produce low-carbon olefins. Currently, the overall project completion rate has reached over 85%. After the project is put into production, it is estimated that the annual taxation of profit will be 2.5 billion RMB. The 600kt/a olefin project includes 280kt/a PE project, 320kt/a PP project, 80kt/a butadiene project, 25kt/a butylene-1 project, 6kt/a MTBE project, 60kt/a LPG and oil product project and 80kt/a PBR project.
