Final Result of Styrene Anti-dumping to be Announced

China’s Ministry of Commerce has initiated anti-dumping investigations on imported styrene originating in South Korea, Taiwan Province and the U.S. since June 23, 2017. On February 12, 2017, the Ministry of Commerce announced the preliminary results of styrene anti-dumping. Since February 13, 2018, when importing styrene resources originating in South Korea, Taiwan Province and the U.S., importers should submit corresponding guarantees to the Customs of the People’s Republic of China according to the preliminary determination of the anti-dumping.  

In the initial anti-dumping results of styrene, the Ministry of Commerce would impose a margin ratio of 7.8%-8.4% on South-Korean companies, 5% on Taiwanese companies, and 9.2%-10.7% on U.S. companies. The duration of anti-dumping investigation is generally around one year. As a result, the investigation is to be completed around June 23, 2018. China’s Ministry of Commerce may announce the final anti-dumping results of styrene at the end of June 2018. Players should pay attention to the possible changes and adjust purchase strategies in time.
