Methanol Fuel is Getting Popular in China
Located in Quanjiao County of Anhui Province, a denatured alcohol-based fuel production base with the investment of 70 million RMB and the capacity of 200kt/a is under the commissioning, which is the only commercial methanol fuel program recorded officially in NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission).
According to the data from Methanol Times Alliance, alcohol-based fuel has been widely used in the industrial boiler and heating fields, with the consumption volume surging from nearly 0 in 2015 to 4,000kt in 2017. The volume is expected to surpass 6,000kt in 2018. Meanwhile, the consumption volume of alcohol-based fuel in the traditional cooking range field is also rising steadily.
