The Weather Condition May Affect the NR Production
The global climate has been extremely unstable recently. The high temperatures, heavy rains, typhoons, even volcanic eruptions and glacial melt occurred consecutively this year, causing varying degrees of impact on the world's economies. The official meteorological agencies at home and abroad have confirmed that the El Nino will come in the autumn of 2018. Tropical agricultural products such as natural rubber will bear the brunt.
In fact, since the beginning of June 2018, rainstorms have been hitting the world. Among the main rubber producing countries, northeastern India and northern Vietnam have been hit by natural disasters such as floods, landslides and mudslides caused by continuous rainstorms. In July and August, typhoons and heavy rains became more frequent, with the northern and northeastern Thailand, northern Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and India being affected by floods to varying degrees.
The world has just experienced la Nina in 2017. If the El Nino is followed, it will lead to floods in the central and eastern Pacific and South American Pacific coastal countries, while India, Indonesia and Australia will experience severe drought, which will greatly affect the production and cultivation of tropical crops such as palm, natural rubber and coffee.

According to China National Climate Center and the weather bureau of the U.S., the possibilities for El Nino to occur in autumn and winter are 60% and 70% respectively. The occurrence time basically overlaps with the NR production peak season in Thailand, China and Vietnam, and El Nino may continue to affect the early stage of rubber tapping next year.
