Jiutai Energy (Jungar)’s 600kt/a MTO Project Latest Progress

Jiutai Energy (Jungar)’s 600kt/a MTO project boiler lighting ceremony was held on September 10.

Jiutai Energy (Jungar)’s methanol deep-processing project construction started in 2013. With the total investment of 8.28 billion RMB, the project adopts the MTO technology from UOP, and over 85% of the construction has been finished up to now. The project includes 280kt/a PE unit, 320kt/a PP unit, 80kt/a butadiene unit, 25kt/a butene-1 unit, 6kt/a MTBE unit, 60kt/a LPG and oil products unit and 80kt/a PBR unit.

Jiutai Energy (Jungar) is the subsidiary of Jiutai Energy Inner Mongolia which is affiliated to Jiutai Group. Currently, Jiutai Group has arranged 4 coal chemical projects in Inner Mongolia. The first is the 1,000kt/a methanol and 100kt/a DME project of Jiutai Energy Inner Mongolia, which was put into operation in 2010. The second is the 500kt/a MEG project of Jiutai Energy (Erdos). The third is the 600kt/a MTO project of Jiutai Energy (Jungar), and the fourth is the 1,000kt/a MEG and 1,800kt/a PTA project of Jiutai Energy New Materials.
