Dongjiakou 300,000mt Crude Oil Wharf Started Construction

On December 26, the second phase of the 300,000mt crude oil wharf at Dongjiakou Port started construction. In June, the project was determined as an important project of Shandong Province. The project includes one 300,000mt berth and one 100,000mt berth. The design capacity of the berths is 25 million mt/a, and the project is planned to be put into operation at the end of 2019.

Qingdao Port is the largest port for crude oil imports in China. One-sixth of China's crude oil imports come via Qingdao Port. Qingdao Shihua crude oil terminal at Qingdao port became China's first to exceed annual oil product throughput of 100 million mt in 2017. The Shihua terminal is a subsidiary of Qingdao port that specializes in liquid bulk cargo. It is also the largest oil product transshipping base among all seaports on Chinese mainland, with the largest tankpark capacity in the country, encompassing seven wharfs and 12 berths at the harbor districts of Huangdao and Dongjiakou. Dongjiakou Port has built a 300,000/450,000 mt crude oil wharf and a 100,000mt transshipping wharf with the total design capacity of 25 million mt/a. Accordingly, if the second phase is finished, the crude oil design capacity of Dongjiakou Port will reach 50million mt/a. In addition, the third phase of the Dongjiakou – Weifang crudeoil pipeline is under construction. The first phase was put into operation inAugust 2017 and delivered 9 million mt of crude oil.
