Asian LNG Imports August 2018

According to official sources, the five major LNG importers in Asia imported 18.53 million tons of LNG in July 2018. The monthly LNG import increase of China and Japan were over 10%, and the LNG import of India decreased. The four players in the Asian LNG market were becoming more and more active, especially the three countries in Northeast Asia since they’re facing the upcoming heating season.

Japan, world’s largest LNG importer, saw a continous increase in LNG imports to 7.56 million tons in August, up 4.41% Y-O-Y and up 11.31% M-O-M. The average import price was assessed at $528.86/mt, increased slightly from last month.
