Xintai Petrochemical to Build C3 Deep-Processing Unit

According to sources, Zibo Xintai Petrochemical plans to build C3 deep-processing unit with the capacity of 300kt/a.

Main unit: 300kt/a PDH unit, 300kt/a PO and matched units

Investment: 4.8 billion RMB

Technology: Catofin technology from LUMMUS

Commissioning time: 2020

Zibo Xintai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (abbr. as Xintai Petrochemical) was established in March 2005 and located in the Linzi District, Zibo City, Shandong Province. The registered capital of Xintai Petrochemical is 1.1 billion RMB, and it has more than 900 employees, including 50 engineering and related technical personnel and 8 enterprise management talents. The company’s main business scope: Production and sales of light distillate oil, dry gas, naphtha, liquid hydrocarbons, light wax oil, wax oil, residual oil, fuel oil, petroleum coke, road bitumen, diesel, lubricant oil & base oil and transformer oil; sales of benzene, toluene, xylene isomer mixture, construction materials and metal materials; import and export of goods.

In terms of the feedstock, Zibo City is an inland city and cannot directly import propane as feedstock. Therefore, SCI reckons that Xintai Petrochemical can obtain the feedstock from Dongying Port, Wanhua Chemical, Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry Group or Oriental Energy, or it can also purchase imported propane from Weifang Port.
