Profit Margin of Shandong Chlor-Alkali Enterprise Decreased

The performance of chlor-alkali products varied from November to now. On the whole, the caustic soda market performed weakly; the PVC prices bottomed out; liquid chlorine prices fell obviously and calcium carbide prices fell again.

In Shandong, the caustic soda prices went sideways at a low level. The prices of high concentration caustic soda fell notably against the weak demand.

PVC prices bottomed out and rallied slightly. The tight supply in South China and goods sales in North China contributed to the rises. Besides, the safety inspections are about to begin, so the output of PVC is expected to decrease.

The calcium carbide prices turned to be stable after initially slipping from November. In H1 of November, the prices of calcium carbide declined continuously by RMB 150-200/mt due to the unbalanced supply and demand. Then the prices went sideways.
