
Asian LNG Imports Jun 2019
According to official sources, the four major LNG importers in Asia imported 14.63 million tons of LNG in June 2019. The import volume did not change greatly in June.
China, the world’s largest natural gas importer, imported 4.53 million tons of LNG in June, up 14.11% Y-O-Y and 2.17% M-O-M. The average LNG import price was $443.80/mt, down 3.73% Y-O-Y but up 0.31% M-O-M.
Japan, the world’s largest LNG importer, imported 5.20 million tons in June, down 6.25% Y-O-Y and 6.60% M-O-M. The average import price was $474.53/mt, down 5.57% Y-O-Y and 2.85% M-O-M.
South Korea received 3.23 million tons of LNG in June, down 14.08% Y-O-Y but up 8.59% M-O-M. The average import price was $469.80/mt, down 7.60% Y-O-Y and 2.52% M-O-M.
Taiwan Province’s LNG import is estimated at 1.67 million tons in June, up 15.17% Y-O-Y but down 6.18% M-O-M. The average import price was $435.00/mt, down 6.45% Y-O-Y but up 0.69% M-O-M.
