Total Delivers First LNG Cargo to GEG
According to Total China, Total’s LNG desk delivered a Qatari LNG carrier UMM AL ASHTAN with 58,000 metric tons of LNG on July 27 at CNOOC Zhuhai Terminal in Guangdong as the first delivery of its contract previously inked with Guangdong Energy Group (GEG) or so-called as Yudean.
As the forth largest natural gas producer and the second largest LNG operating company, Total takes China as one of its key markets and has put great efforts with China’s LNG buyers. Back to 2008, Total had signed a long-term SPA with CNOOC and updated in 2018 to expand to 20-year 1.5 Mtpa contract. Also, Total had deep collaboration with China’s NOCs in offshore LNG export terminal projects such as Yamal LNG and Arctic LNG 2. Total is also motivated to talk with China’s 2-tier LNG buyers. In 2016, Total signed a 10-year 0.5 Mtpa SPA with ENN, and the first delivery was accomplished in 2019’ February. Later, Total signed a 10-year 0.7 Mtpa SPA with Guanghui Energy in 2019’s April.
