Shanghai Golden Conti Starts LPG Import
According to sources, Shanghai Golden Conti Petrochemical started receiving imported refrigerated LPG resources, so did Jiangsu Tak Bridge Storage. Accordingly, the LPG import in East China became more active.
Shanghai Golden Conti Petrochemical is registered in Pudong New District, Shanghai and integrated with LPG production, processing and storage. According to sources, there will be LPG resources imported from the U.S. to arrive at Shanghai Golden Conti Petrochemical in H1 September.
In 1999, Shanghai Golden Conti Petrochemical built two low-temperature LPG storage tanks with each storage capacity of 50,000 cbm to store imported low-temperature propane and butane. Moreover, the company also built four room-temperature pressurized spheroidal storage tanks with each storage capacity of 1,500 cbm. Therein, one was used to store propane, and one was used to store butane. The other two tanks were used to store mixed propane and butane.
Sources also say that Sinopec plans to build light ends processing base in Zhanjiang, Qingjiang, Zhenhai, etc., so Sinopec will greatly raise the import volume of LPG in the future. Moreover, given the restart of Jiangsu Tak Bridge Storage, SCI reckons that the competition in LPG import market in East China will become severer. Besides, it is estimated that the overall LPG market in East China will improve somewhat, stimulated by the relatively healthy competition.
