Domestic Demand Increased, but Export Orders Decreased Sharply

Entering into March, downstream producers of ABS resumed working. The operating rate at many downstream large-scale home appliances enterprises was above 50%, and that at some enterprises was even around 70%. However, influenced by the public health event, export orders at downstream enterprises were curbed.

In end-Mar, it was learnt that the operating rate at large-scale modified ABS producers was 50%, and that at a few producers was 60%-70%. These enterprises are mainly OEM enterprises such as home appliance, automobile, computer and electronic products enterprises. The operating rate at large-scaled home appliance enterprises in South China was 50%-60%. The operating rate at some large-scaled toy export enterprises was 50%, and that at some refrigerator export enterprises was 70%. The operating rate at some air conditioning producers was around 50%.

At present, many downstream export enterprises mainly consume the previous orders. Some export enterprises turn to the domestic market. However, the demand recovery still needs time, and the downstream industry competition will intensify later.
