Jul PVC Import Stood at High Level

China’s PVC imports arrived in China continuously in July, and major trade mode was general trade. As for export market, lacking of arbitrage, export volume was not high. Net import volume of PVC was still high in July.
Such high import volume in July was mainly supported by the obvious opening of the import arbitrage window in April and May. Since April, China domestic market has emerged from the soft macroeconomic environment, and market demand has clearly recovered, leading to a rally in prices. But overseas markets still underperformed, so foreign suppliers were active in exporting resources to China to gain more profits. As a result, China domestic importers received a large number of orders in April and May, which arrived in China intensively in June and July. SCI predicts that import volume will shrink in August.
