China Dec ABS Import Volume Declined 6.9% Y-O-Y

In December 2020, China’s import volume of ABS was 180.0kt, up 0.78% M-O-M, while down 6.90% Y-O-Y. The average import price was $1,823.27/mt. Meanwhile, the total import volume of ABS from January to December in 2020 dropped 1.29% Y-O-Y (including 39.57kt HS code 39033010 and 140.43kt HS code 39033090).

In December, China imported 70.3kt ABS from Taiwan Province, taking up the most proposition of 39%. That from South Korea ranked second at 52.1kt, taking up 29% of the total. The third was Malaysia of 22.4kt, accounting for 12% of the total. The top 5 of China’s ABS exporters (Taiwan Province, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and Japan) took up 90% of the total imported ABS.
