Sinopec Secures 30 Cargoes for January 2021
According to Sinopec, the company scheduled over 2 million tons of LNG delivery by 30 ships in January 2021 to help North China in the natural gas winter heating peak against the historical cold spell hitting from the beginning of the month.
After delivered Beihai terminal to PipeChina, Sinopec now owns two LNG receiving terminals, Sinopec Tianjin (6 Mtpa) and Sinopec Qingdao (6 Mtpa), both located in North China. Sinopec’s LNG trading arm Unipec has planned in advance to provide enough cargoes during the winter heating season, whilst Sinopec’s Wen-23 and Wen-96 UGS facilities, which stored to full during the summer season, now run at full withdrawal rate to feed Sinopec’s North China pipeline grid. Also, Sinopec’s shale gas production has reached the highest, and Fuling Gasfield in Southwest China has surpassed 20 mcm/d production rate.
