How Newly Added 1,800kt/a Methanol Unit to Change Market Supply and Demand Pattern?
In early May, Guangxi Huayi Energy and Chemical witnessed the berthing of its first vessel of 70kt fuel coal at Qinzhou Port, marking a substantial step in the production of its 1,800kt/a methanol unit. It is projected that the commissioning of this project will result in apparent changes in the supply and demand patterns in southern methanol markets, such as South China and Southwest China.
Huayi Qinzhou Chemical New Material Integration Project was started construction from November 2017 and predicted to go into operation in mid-June 2021. The project includes 1,800kt/a coal-based methanol units, 1,200kt/a acetic acid units (500+700), 200kt/a MEG units, etc.
