Q1 Saw Stable BD Imports & Notable Y-O-Y Export Growth
Introduction: In Q1, 2021, the import volume of butadiene in China was relatively steady. Therein, the total import volume of butadiene reached 97.5kt, down 5.6% Y-O-Y. In Q1, 2021, the export volume of butadiene was 22.7kt, while there was no butadiene exported in Q1, 2020. With the release of China’s newly added butadiene capacity, the import volume of butadiene in China will decline but the export volume will pick up in the future.
Q1, 2021 witnessed flat butadiene import volume.
In Q1, 2021, China imported 97.5kt of butadiene in total, and the monthly import volume of butadiene was relatively stable. The butadiene import volume in Q1, 2021 decreased by around 5.6% Y-O-Y. From the perspective of import origins, the import volume of butadiene from the Netherlands ranked first, followed by Iran and South Korea, which accounted for about half of the total imports. Besides, the import volume of butadiene from Taiwan Province, Belgium, Singapore, Oman, Thailand, etc. accounted for a relatively large proportion. The import origins didn’t see obvious adjustments Y-O-Y, and the imported resources were mainly deep-sea cargoes.
