Benefiting from regional advantages, Henan is an important hub connecting Northwest China, the main producing area of methanol, with East China, the main consumption area. In Henan market, there are goods from Shanxi, Shaanxi and other places, and local resources can be sold to Shandong, Jiangsu, etc. Henan’s methanol capacity accounts for 4.9% of the total in China and its consumption takes up 5.2% of the total. The main production enterprises in Henan are concentrated in Xinxiang, Hebi and Puyang. There are abundant methanol downstream industries, including olefin, formaldehyde, DME, acetic acid and so on.
Heavy rain has limited impacts on the production and sales at methanol and downstream plants, but the logistics will be hindered in the short term.
