NDRC Approved CNOOC Zhuhai 2nd Expansion Project
On April 30, 2021, Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission officially approved CNOOC’s application to double the receiving capacity of its Zhuhai LNG receiving terminal located in the west of South China’s Guangdong Province by adding five 270,000-cbm LNG storage tanks and three output pipelines for regas by 2023’s winter.
According to CNOOC, the project has been set to start the construction from June 15, 2021 and was planned to run into service by December 2023.
CNOOC Zhuhai LNG receiving terminal was put into operation in 2013 with 3.5 million tons per annum receiving capacity. It was designed with three 160,000-cbm LNG storage tanks and an 80,000-270,000-cbm LNGC berth. By 2020, the terminal has reached its max designed output capacity at 30 mcm/d regas and 15 kt/d truck loading.
