Volume and Price Transfer in Propylene Chain
According to the transfer of volume and price in propylene industrial chain in February 2021, propylene, PP granule, PP powder, PO, NBA, 2-EH, acrylic acid and acetone complied with the negative correlation logic with the opposite trend of supply volume and price. The supply volume and price of acrylonitrile and ECH both decreased.
From the supply, the supply of the products in the propylene industrial chain decreased, affected by the shrinking production cycle in February. Hereinto, the decline in supply of PP powder and acetone was the most obvious. This month, the profit from PP powder production was negative, causing the output to drop. The output and import volume of acetone both fell.
From the price, prices of the products in the propylene industrial chain mainly increased. Hereinto, the increment in prices of acrylic acid was the most significant. The acrylic acid supply was tight due to the intensive unit maintenance, so producers were reluctant to sell at low prices.
