Orient Hongye Chemical to Start PDH Project Construction
According to sources, Weifang Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau accepts the 100kt/a propylene and by-product project at Shandong Orient Hongye Chemical.
This project includes a 100kt/a PDH unit, and it is estimated that the construction of this project will be started in October 2022 and come on stream in October 2023. Besides, this PDH unit adopts domestic technology.
According to SCI’s data, there are 8 PDH units in Shandong, and the total PDH capacity reaches 3,325kt/a. As of 2025, it is predicted 8 newly added PDH units will be put into use, with the newly added capacity of 4,950kt/a. Accordingly, it is estimated that the propane industrial-use demand in Shandong will reach about 6,000kt in 2025.
