China PVC Downstream Product Export Change in 2023
Preface: From 2018 to 2021, the growth rate of PVC floor covering exports hovered at 14%-35%. However, the growth rate slowed down in 2022. China’s PVC floor covering export market was in the doldrums in 2023. The export volume of other downstream products such as pipe, profile, plate, sheet, film, etc. saw a Y-O-Y increase.

PVC floor covering: From January to October 2023, the total export volume of PVC floor coverings was 3,743.5kt, down 14.03% Y-O-Y. The main export destinations were the U.S., Canada, Germany, and Australia. As China’s domestic floor products are mainly exported to developed countries in Europe and the U.S., with the slowdown in demand in Europe and the U.Ss, the export volume of China’s floor covering has declined significantly, and the floor enterprises have turned to the domestic market amid the suppression of export demand.
PVC pipe: From January to October 2023, the total export volume of PVC pipe was 111.9kt, up 39.32% Y-O-Y. In the recent two years, the main export destinations were Myanmar, Hong Kong of China, the U.S., and Thailand.
PVC special-shaped profile: From January to October 2023, the total export volume of PVC special-shaped profile was 93.9kt, up 10.18%. The main export destinations were India, Guatemala, Thailand, India, and Indonesia.
PVC plate, sheet, film, foil, and fillet: From January to October 2023, the total export volume of PVC plate, sheet, film, foil, and fillet was 374.2kt, up 11.47% Y-O-Y. Vietnam, India, the U.S., and Thailand were the main export destinations.
In recent years, except for PVC floor covering, the export of other downstream products remained relatively low. However, in 2023, the export volume of pipe, profile, plate, sheet, film, foil, and fillet saw a notable Y-O-Y increase. The export destinations were still Southeast Asia, South Asia, and North America. From the perspective of economic development in Southeast Asian and South Asian countries, the volume exported to these countries may increase in the later period.
