2024 China PP Unit Maintenance Plans
Preamble: China’s polypropylene (PP) industry has been experiencing capacity expansion peak in recent years. PP production profits performed poorly because of the oversupply and high feedstock costs. More PP producers whittled down operating rates or arranged maintenance, which resulted in a decrease in PP capacity utilization rate. According to SCI’s research on PP production, it is learned that there may still be many unit turnarounds in 2024, and turnarounds may be concentrated in Q2 and Q4.
