Sep 2025 Japan & South Korea NBR Exports Rose
Introduction: Japan and South Korea are major export countries of NBR around the world. According to data released in September 2025, the NBR export volume from Japan and South Korea increased.
September Export Volume
According to data released by Japan Customs, in September 2025, Japan’s NBR export volume was 4,297mt, up 34.44% MoM and 8.69% YoY. Japan’s total export volume from January to September was 33,919mt, down 1.01% YoY. According to data released by Korea Customs Service, South Korea exported 11,600mt of NBR in September 2025, up 7.71% MoM and 28.01% YoY. South Korea’s total export volume from January to September was 102,633mt, up 10.09% YoY.
In terms of Japan’s export trade partners, China, the U.S., and India were the top three export destinations in September 2025. Japan’s export volume of NBR to China was 1,379mt, up 8.44% MoM and 81.66% YoY; That to the U.S. was 996mt, up 148.36% MoM but down 47.97% YoY; That to India was 501mt, down 5.43% MoM but up 75.15% YoY.
In terms of South Korea’s export trade partners, China, India, and the U.S. were the top three export destinations in September 2025. South Korea’s export volume of NBR to China was 3,225mt, up 63.93% MoM and 87.07% YoY; That to India was 2,113mt, up 13.60% MoM and 38.04% YoY; That to the U.S. was 1,056mt, down 10.93% MoM and 20.60% YoY.
From the perspective of China’s market in September 2025, according to SCI, China imported NBR from Japan at the price of $2,750-2,850/mt, and from South Korea at the price of $1,750-1,800/mt. China’s importers purchased on a need-to basis.
October Export Volume Forecast:
Looking ahead to October, in South Korea, some units will probably undergo maintenance in H2 October, and NBR prices will possibly dip after inching up. Besides, since September 25, India has imposed anti-dumping duties on some suppliers from South Korea. Thus, South Korea’s export volume may decline in October. In Japan, shipload prices in October are expected to remain stable. However, the spot supply of partial grades may not be high. Japan’s export volume is likely to remain around 4,000mt.
