ANRPC: 2018 Jan-Oct Global NR Supply Shortage of 228kt

On December 24th, ANRPC announced the latest NR supply and demand data. From January to October 2018, the global NR demand reached 11.696 million mt, up 5.2% Y-O-Y. At the same time, the global NR output increased by 5.5% to 11.468 million mt. This led to a supply shortage of 228kt.

In early October 2018, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) cut its global economic growth forecast for 2019 by 0.2% to 3.7%. Since the World Economic Outlookwas released in April, the trade frictions in the past six months produced negative effects on the global economy. Commodity markets such as the crude oil and rubber markets had been fluctuating downwards in October 2018.
