On April 1, super-grade PX products from the 20 million mt/a refining-chemical integration project of Hengli Petrochemical (Changxing Island, Dalian) have been directly supplied to its PTA plants. This makes Hengli Petrochemical as the largest PX-PTA integration enterprise in the world. As the first large-scale refining-chemical integration project opened to private enterprises in China, the integration project of Hengli Petrochemical not only owns the biggest scale, the most advanced production technology, but also has the highest integration degree and the most complete supporting facilities. The whole production process is highly efficient and clean.

With an annual output of 4.5 million mt/a, its aromatics complex units adopts the most advanced AXENS technology. By lifting China’s PX output by 30%, the project not only improves China’s PX self-sufficient rate, but also enhances China’s speaking right in the world.

With PX continuously delivered to downstream PTA plants, Hengli Petrochemical can basically become self-sufficient between upstream and downstream chains. Compared with importing from abroad, PX alone can help Hengli Petrochemical to save more than one billion RMB cost in freight, loading & unloading, loss, etc. every year. At the same time, the annual output of 350kt of acetic acid can also be directly supplied to the downstream PTA plants through pipeline, which will further improve the cost advantage and economic benefit in the industrial park.

At present, relying on the industrial chain, Hengli Petrochemical has taken the leading position in the industry, has enhanced its sustainable profitability and anti-risk level of operation. Additionally, it will help Hengli Petrochemical to become the first enterprise in the world to develop the whole industrial chain. In addition, the 1.5 million mt/a ethylene project, 1.8 million mt/a MEG and 5 million mt/a PTA project have entered the installation stage. These moves will help Hengli Petrochemical to achieve 300 billion RMB of annual output value and 65 billion RMB of profits and taxes. It will also boost the annual sales of Hengli Group to hit 600 billion RMB.
