CNPC Pipeline Company Work Hard to Ensure Winter Gas Pipeline

The peak season for the gas demand has come, and CNPC Pipeline Company is focusing on ensuring gas supply now. Up to December 3, 2018, CNPC Pipeline Company transported 18.04 bcm of gas, up 3.6 bcm Y-O-Y.

CNPC Pipeline Company is in charge of the gas supply in its administration areas. The coal-to-gas reform resulted in the continuously increasing gas demand. The gas market was not weak enough in the traditional weak season in the summer, and the market became even hotter as winter approaching. Entering the heating season, the gas supply was tighter. CNPC Pipeline Company takes multiple methods to ensure the stable operation of gas pipelines and the supply to residential sector.

The Gaizhou-Panjin Compressor Station is one of the 2018 Natural Gas Infrastructure Interconnection Major Projects. This station will transport the peak-shaving gas via the Qin-Shen Pipeline and Yong-Tang-Qin Pipeline to North China, providing peak-shaving resources in the winter. This project was supported by the central ministries and local governments. Thus, the Gaizhou-Panjin Compressor Station started operation on November 28, much earlier than the planned commissioning time of December 31. And the station will ease the tight gas supply in Liaoning.

The test trial of China-Russia Pipeline East Line finished on November 12. The China-Russia Pipeline East Line is one of the four major energy channels to serve the Belt and Road strategy. This pipeline will be the long-distance natural gas pipeline with biggest transportation volume. The designed transportation capacity of this pipeline is 38 bcm, which equals to 1/6 of China’s total gas consumption in 2017.
