The Import Tariffs on Natural Rubber Will See Great Adjustments
On December 25, 2018, China issued the 2019 Adjustment Plan for Provisional Import and Export Tariffs, which would adjust the import and export tariffs of some commodities from January 1, 2019. The import tariffs for natural rubber (NR), synthetic rubber (SR) and other feedstock would continue to decrease.

As shown in the above table, since 2019, China will continue to implement a tariff of 10% or RMB 900/mt on the imports of NR latex.
Feedstock such as smoked sheets and TSNR will continue to be imposed by an import tariff of 20% or RMB 1,500/mt. However, only a tariff of 17% will be levied on the smoked sheets and other NR in primary forms originating in the countries that have joined the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement.
For South Korea, a major producer of synthetic rubber, the import tariffs on SBR and BR will be reduced from 7.5% to 5%.
