ENN Zhoushan Terminal Delivers First Cargo for Zhejiang Energy
According to ENN, its first co-op cargo for Zhejiang Energy Group has been delivered to ENN Zhoushan LNG terminal by LNGC MARVEL KITE on October 25, 2020. The 72,000 metric tons cargo was shipped out from Australia’s Gorgon specialized for Zhejiang Energy, and this co-op also means ENN is sharing its infra with more partners in a wider biz area.
To fully utilize ENN Zhoushan terminal, China’s first large-scale LNG terminal owned by the private sector, ENN inked in April 2020 to cooperate with SK E&S and handed off 10% stakes. But more importantly, to connect the mainland gas grid from the island the terminal located, ENN had been negotiating with Zhejiang Energy Group, the controller of Zhejiang provincial gas grid, using its free slots to trade pipeline connection in return.
On August 6, 2020, ENN Zhoushan and Zhejiang Energy Group announced to kick off the 81 kilometers undersea pipeline to deliver ENN Zhoushan’s regas to Ningbo city by a maximum capacity at 8 bcma. With the commissioning of the output pipeline, ENN Zhoushan terminal now fulfilled its integrity to be the eighth source of Zhejiang provincial piping network. It is also believed that ENN Group and Zhejiang Energy Group will enhance their mutual cooperation to intensify the natural gas marketization in Zhejiang, the pioneer of China’s natural gas reform. The cargo delivered on October 25 is expected to be the beginning of the returning favor from ENN, and the two parties will further deepen this co-op in the future, especially at this time when Zhejiang is about to transfer the grid to PipeChina.
