China LPG Import Saw Large Rise in August 2020
According to sources, China’s LPG import volume was 1,918.81kt in August, up 24.64% M-O-M and 15.55% Y-O-Y.
As seen from the table above, China’s LPG import volume in August increased by 379.3kt M-O-M and 259.2kt Y-O-Y. Therein, the propane import volume was 1,367.67kt, up 26.97% M-O-M and 18.70% Y-O-Y. Moreover, the import volume of butane was 549.27kt in August, up 18.82% M-O-M and 9.86% Y-O-Y. Meanwhile, China’s import volume of other olefins was 1.86kt, up 828,464.89% M-O-M but down 77.91% Y-O-Y.
According to China Customs, China imported LPG mainly from the U.S., Qatar, Oman the U.A.E. and Kuwait. The imported LPG volume from the U.S. reached 485.4kt, ranking first. Hereinto, the import volume of propane was 405.6kt, and that of butane was 79.8kt. Meanwhile, China imported 466.2kt of LPG from the Qatar, including 357.5kt of propane and 108.7kt of butane. Besides, volume of LPG imported from Oman was 225.9kt, including 123.9kt of propane and 102.1kt of butane.
