Huaying LNG Terminal Breaks Ground
On December 19, 2020, Huaying Natural Gas Co., Ltd. hosted a ceremony in South China’s Chaozhou City to kick off the field construction of its 6 Mtpa LNG receiving terminal. After years of preparation, the Huaying project has finally touched the ground and is expected to run into service by 2022-2023.
As the largest private-owned LNG project in China, Huaying Chaozhou LNG terminal was approved by NDRC in July 2019. The project was designed with 6 million tons per annual receiving capacity, including three 200,000-cbm LNG storage tanks, one 217,000-cbm LNG carrier berth, and other matched truck loading and regas facilities. The project has been seeking for pipeline out cooperation with surrounding grids to supply regas to Guangdong province, and Wuhuan Engineering was nominated as the EPC contractor in November.
