CNPC UGS Injection Fully Initiated
CNPC’s UGS Shuang-6 completed the maintenance and entered injection season on April 25, marking the total start of CNPC UGS injection season of 2021 at all its 10 UGS facilities and complexes.
In the past withdrawal season during the 2020-2021 winter with challenges from thriving domestic demand and severe cold temperature, China’s UGS system contributed over 11.9 bcm of emergency peak-shaving piped gas supply to the domestic market. On the one hand, the supply helped China to pass through the winter challenge smoothly, but on the other hand, the over-consumed UGS storage posted a greater challenge to the injection schedule of the 2021 summer season.
