Feb Benzene Import Analysis
SCI learned that China imported 233.2kt of benzene in February 2022, with an average import price of $1,013.96/mt, and the total benzene imports from January to February 2022 reached 584.89kt.
In February 2022, China imported 135.2kt of benzene from South Korea, making up 58% of the total. Imports from Brunei and Thailand were 31.2kt and 14.9kt, accounting for 13% and 6% of the total, respectively.
In February, Zhejiang-based companies received 72kt of imported benzene, making up 31% of the total, followed by Shanghai and Guangdong, with imports of 48.1kt and 41.5kt, accounting for20% and 18%, respectively.
In January, 208.9kt or 90% of China’s imported benzene was via the general trade, and 24.3kt or 10% was via the processing trade with imported materials.
