China LPG Import Saw Slight M-O-M Rise in Aug 2022
According to sources, China’s LPG import volume was 2,176kt in August 2022, up 1.18% M-O-M and up 3.42% Y-O-Y. Meanwhile, China’s LPG export volume totaled 73.98kt.
Aug 2022 China LPG Import
As seen from the table above, China’s LPG import volume in August increased by 25.48kt M-O-M and rose by 71.98kt Y-O-Y. Therein, the propane import volume was 1,594.21kt, up 1.67% M-O-M but down 0.40% Y-O-Y. Moreover, the import volume of butane was 555.47kt in August, up 1.10% M-O-M and up 16.04% Y-O-Y. Meanwhile, China’s import volume of other LPG and olefins was about 0.18kt. Besides, China’s import volume of liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadiene was 26.14kt, down 20.84% M-O-M but up 5.81% Y-O-Y.
According to China Customs, China imported LPG mainly from the U.S., the U.A.E., Oman, Qatar and Algeria. The imported LPG volume from the U.S. was 716.7kt, ranking first. Hereinto, the import volume of propane was 614.7kt, and that of butane was 102kt. Meanwhile, China imported 482.3kt of LPG from the U.A.E., including 321.1kt of propane and 161.3kt of butane. Besides, volume of LPG imported from Oman was 414kt, including 252.9kt of propane and 161.1kt of butane.
Main provinces and cities that imported most of LPG in August 2022 were Shandong, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Shanghai and Jiangsu. Therein, Shandong imported 527.1kt of LPG, ranking first and taking up 24.22% of the total. Meanwhile, LPG import volume in Zhejiang and Guangdong was 503.9kt and 308.1kt, taking up 23.16% and 14.16% of the total respectively.
Aug 2022 China LPG Export
In August, China’s LPG export volume totaled 73.98kt, up 11.02% M-O-M and up 15.60kt or 26.71% Y-O-Y. Therein, the propane export volume was 29.85kt, up 3.39% M-O-M and up 49.56% Y-O-Y. Meanwhile, the butane export volume was 43.99kt, up 16.95% M-O-M and up 20.96% Y-O-Y. Moreover, there were few LPG and olefins exports. Besides, China’s export volume of liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadiene was zero in August.
In August 2022, China mainly exported LPG to Vietnam, Hong Kong of China, Philippines, Macao of China and Myanmar, and the volume of LPG exported to the above five countries or regions was 73.1kt or so, taking up 98.81% of China’s LPG export volume.
