PE Price to Fluctuate at Highs Boosted by Demand Peak Season and Costs
The international crude oil price kept rising, giving cost support to the PE price. Meanwhile, the downstream demand improved amid the demand peak season as well as holidays and shopping carnivals. However, China’s PE price trended up continuously from July to September, denting downstream profits. Most downstream users replenished their stocks in small orders with tepid buying appetites. SCI reckons that China’s PE market price will likely fluctuate at highs in the short term with the mainstream prices of LLDPE hovering at RMB 8,350-8,800/mt.
