Berun & Jingneng Sign Green Hydrogen/Green Methanol Project
On December 29, 2023, Ulanhot Municipal Government, Beijing Energy Holding and Inner Mongolia Berun Holding Group officially signed a green hydrogen/green methanol project cooperation agreement, opening a new page in the development of hydrogen energy.
It is reported that with a total investment of 3.74 billion yuan, Hinggan League Jingneng coal chemical renewable energy green hydrogen replacement demonstration project is a wind power hydrogen production project, which has a supporting 500MW wind power, a 26kt/a of hydrogen production line and energy storage facilities. After completion, the project will consume 1.57 billion KWH of green electricity, create an output value of 420 million yuan, save 490kt of standard coal and reduce 1.5054 million tons of carbon dioxide each year.
The new green methanol project of Hinggan League Berun Chemical uses the abundant biomass of Hinggan League and the green hydrogen produced via the electrolysis of water of Beijing Jingneng Clean Energy Power as raw materials, and the green methanol produced can replace coal-based methanol, which will greatly reduce carbon emissions.
