Jun 2024 China MTBE Export Saw Y-O-Y Rise of 10.40%
According to GACC’s data, there was no MTBE import in June 2024, and China’s MTBE export volume totaled 179.6kt, down 33.44% M-O-M and up 10.40% Y-O-Y.
In June 2024, China’s MTBE import volume was zero, as the international MTBE prices remained relatively high. China’s LPG import arbitrage remained negative for a long time, so no importer purchased MTBE from the international market. From January to June 2024, China’s MTBE export volume totaled 1,508.8kt, up 98.40% Y-O-Y.
As for export trade partners, China’s mainly exported MTBE to Singapore, and the export volume of 84.5kt in June, taking up 47.05% of the total. Meanwhile, the volume of MTBE exported to the U.A.E. was 28.7kt, occupying 15.96%. Besides, China exported 20.1kt of MTBE resources to Malaysia, taking up 11.22% of the total.
In terms of the registration place, the MTBE export volume of Shandong was 85.2kt, taking up 47.46% of the total. Meanwhile, the MTBE export volume of Jiangsu and Liaoning was 39.1kt and 17.3kt, taking up 21.77% and 9.63% of the total respectively. Besides, the MTBE export volume of Anhui took the fourth place, with the total export volume of 10.1kt and occupying 5.62%.
As for the MTBE export trade mode, China mainly exported MTBE via general trade in June 2024. China exported 153.5kt of MTBE resources via general trade, taking up 85.47% of the total. Meanwhile, the volume of MTBE resources exported via processing trade with imported materials was 26.1kt, occupying 14.53%.
