PetroChina Yunnan Petrochemical to Produce Qualified Oil Products
According to SCI, PetroChina Yunnan Petrochemical is testing the pipeline network, and qualified oil products are scheduled to be produced in the middle of August. PetroChina Yunnan Petrochemical was the second big oil refining project in Southwest China after PetroChina Sichuan Petrochemical. Theoretically, it can produce 9,200,000 tons of gasoline and diesel each year, while the apparent consumption volume of gasoline and diesel in Yunnan Province is around 9,600,000 tons each year.
The processing capacity of the atmospheric and vacuum distillation units of PetroChina Yunnan Petrochemical is 13,000,000 tons/year. The project has 16 main downstream units, including the 4,000,000 tons/year hydrogenation unit, the 2,400,000 tons/year reforming unit, the 3,300,000 tons/year catalytic unit and 1,200,000 tons/year coking unit. The project can produce National VI Standard oil products.
Jiuzhaigou Earthquake Having No Impact on Surrounding Refineries
A 7.0-magnitude earthquake shook Sichuan's Jiuzhaigou County late on the night of August 8, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). PetroChina Sichuan Petrochemical, 250 kilometers away from the epicenter, could feel the earthquake, but the production of PetroChina Sichuan Petrochemical was not impacted. The oil and gas fields in Sichuan were all running normally, and PetroChina and Sinopec announced that the earthquake had no impact on their oil bases.
Safety Check on Independent Refineries Continuing
China’s State Administration of Word Safety organized 16 teams to have safety check on independent refineries in 12 provinces in July. More than 100 refineries were included in the check list, and more than 770 problems and hidden dangers were found in the check. Therein, Shandong Changyi Petrochemical was imposed a fine of RMB 12,080,000, due to its two violations. This was the highest fine after the new Production Safety Law of the People's Republic of China was carried out. In addition, hydrogen sulfide leak occurred to one Shandong independent refinery on August 6, so industry participants should continue focusing on the safe production.
